Clos Mustardó White 2011, Grand Gold Medal at Catavinum 2015

All the wines from the cellar were awarded.

Clos Mustardó whiteOn 25th February unveiled the results of Catavinum World Wine & Spirits Competition, which takes place every year in the Basque city of Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Clos Mustardó White 2011 has been awarded a Grand Gold Medal, the highest award of the competition that distinguishes one of the best wines of the year between approximately 2500 references.

Clos Mustardó white is fermented in oak barrels in the cellar. Made with white grenache, highlights a particular experimental and detailed elaboration. Taking profit of the features that define the authenticity of Grenache, the winery has opted for a modern and thorough preparation which reinforces the freshness and fruity wine, combining power and subtlety. The result is a wine with complexity and personality, aimed to those that look for something more than a light white.

According to the jury, Clos Mustardó white 2011 highlights the intense and complex aroma, full-bodied and well balanced. They also mention that this is a wine with high persistence.

This award adds to the good references obtained by Clos Mustardó white throughout 2014, including TOP Wine by La Guia de Vins de Catalunya or 90 points given by Penin Guide 2015.

In addition, all the wines submitted to the contest received a medal, highlighting Clos Corriol white 2013, young white, and Els Igols 2004, old Grenache from traditional slopes, that received the Gold Medal of the competition.
